About this place
Tucked just off the bustle of Yasukuni-dori in Kanda Ogawamachi, Tachi Eito is a welcoming pub combining traditional British comfort food with a versatile drink list. Though its name hints at standing-bar culture, the dining space is fully outfitted with proper counter stools and table seating, making it equally fitting for winding down after work or taking a relaxed weekend break.
A natural place to begin is the cottage pie, a house specialty featuring gently simmered minced meat capped with creamy mashed potato and baked until golden and bubbling. Other British touches include chilled coronation chicken tossed with mild aromatic spices, alongside drinks-friendly small plates like cream cheese cured in Cotswolds honey and miso, offering satisfying savory bites at modest prices.
To drink, Scotch highballs made with Talisker 10 Year Old or GlenDronach 12 Year Old cut cleanly through rich dishes. Draft taps pour pints of Heineken and Guinness alongside characterful craft ales, allowing plenty of room to tailor a glass to the plate before you.
Lunchtime brings well-rounded sets, including a cottage pie plate served with salad and 2 kinds of bread, as well as a comforting seafood gratin deepened with bisque sauce. From vegetable-accented lunch platters to evening pints paired with small bites, it is an easy stop to fit into any schedule.
